Message in a Bottle
Posted By Lynn on February 26 2010

Last week we threw hundreds of letters from school children into the ocean in a giant bottle. Perhaps you will find it washed up on a beach, if so please get in touch. In the meanwhile here are some of the highlights. The spelling is mostly original.

“To a person who hopefully does not know me,

Hopefully I may not be dead when you get this, if the world hasn’t already been destroyed my name is Bryn. I am from Scotland, a great country where people get the wrong impression. Not everyone wears a kilt and has a sword.

I will like to informed you that I am a school boy and my first priority is education. My eyes are big and dark, my nose is neither big nor small, and I have a big ears, my head is neither big nor small, with a small hair on it.

The economical standard of my town is ok but there is a lot of rubbish floating around. Theres wild cats that rome the hills here but they are mistaken for hose cats. My friend took one in by mistake but now it swims in the sea.

There is a problem with pollution it towns and citys even in the countryside because we don’t just have farms and animals we also have restraunts (places that are fancy and you go there to eat fancy and some times luxary foods like cavalry and expensive fish) this is all because we want more and more energy and its not good for the environment.

Global warming makes the glaciers melt and so that has a big impact with the localities on the seaside. That’s why I really worry about the future of my dear island.

In my country there are many places that are affected by climate change. In fact, the glacier melting favorised the sea increasing so there are more and more places in the coast that disappear. It creates many problems because those places are used for tourism or simply for living. There were even some graveyard where dead bodies were exhumed because of the sea increasing. Our government have tried to repair some disasters but isn’t rich enough to avoid that kind of things.

These impacts are important because there are many cities near to the Atlantic Ocean if all these important cities disappear (New York, Manhattan, Goree Island, Dakar, Liverpool) it is going to be a big wrong and a sad loss for all the entire world. So, we have to fight against these climate changes.

I hate spiders and people who are not kind. I have two great siblings Vinyl and Mascot. My birthday is on the 3rd December and I would appreciate a card. My ambitions in life are many but the one of topmost priority, is that I would love to find the cure for HIV/Aids. I don’t like bad smells but I like to meet different people. Enough about me and now what about you? What is your name? Do you like dogs? Do cars hover above the ground and has anyone been to Pluto yet?

Lastly, I am still having great hope for my country in the future. If you find this you are very lucky. Please reply back as it will be a great experience becoming friends over bottle exchange.

Hope to hear from you,

Marion, Osman, Jameel, Ronan, Bryn, Francesca, Chris, Robyn, Chloe, Emma, Kathryn, Melanie, Amy, Craig, Jack, Hamish, George, Mark, Rhianon, Lamin, Abdoulie, Mariama, Elaine, Aisstou, Isaac, Sterling and Kimberly

PS I love Cristiano Ronaldo so much. If you are not Cristiano Ronaldo put this back in the water!
